I think I’m getting ahead of myself, I see I haven’t posted Thanksgiving Dinner photos yet but now I’ve already started so here goes! LOL! Dustin and I hosted an early Thanksgiving Dinner at our house this year and head to the Mountains with the Evans for Thanksgiving Week.
Dustin and I headed up with the kids a day early and stopped in Chattanooga for the night. We did this last time we went to the mountains and we really enjoy sightseeing around Chattanooga.
We ate at a little restaurant close to the Choo Choo, so of course we headed next door to explore after dinner. It’s always strange to me how deserted this place is!
Alec thought this fortune machine was super cool, Kaleigh was TERRIFIED of the talking man!! LOL!
The next morning, we got up for a tour of Ruby Falls!
After that, ROCK CITY! This is our favorite thing to do in Chattanooga, so much cool stuff to look at and explore!
You can see 7 different states from the top of Lookout Mountain inside Rock City!

It was SOOOO Cold, we spent lots of time playing games in the cabin, here’s Alec and his first game of checkers with mom!
It was nearly too cold for a fire! Kaleigh refused to wear these snowpants so you know it’s COLD if she has these on! Alec and I wore our snow gear nearly everywhere we went!
We had fun visiting horses just down the street from our cabin!
And the played a little dominos!
We spent a COLD day at Dollywood and had a blast! This corndog was part of a $50 lunch that consisted of 3 corndog meals and 2 drinks! Needless to say, that was our only meal at Dollywood!
Kaleigh on her FIRST kinda real rollercoaster! She LOVES it!
Oh my!! YEP, those are my two guys WAY up in the sky flying around! Alec is such a daredevil too and wanted to ride EVERYTHING he was tall enough to ride!
And no trip to anywhere is complete with out some cotton candy!
Family pic in front of the steam engine! Alec rode this last year with Nana and said it was LONG and COLD, so we opted for just a family pic and no riding on the train!
We were waiting in line for a pic with Rudolph, thankfully no tears were shed by the time we made it to the front and Clarice came out while Rudolph went for a snack! LOL!
Finally the electrical parade in Dollywood, You can tell it’s getting colder because Kaleigh has broken out her ski jacket!
We rode this old timey car driving/riding ride several times and left in tears because mom and dad wouldn’t ride again, Alec was so proud to be tall enough to be able to drive with out mom or dad in the car with him. So mom rode by herself most of the time while Kaleigh took Dad on some crazy rides!
Alec BEGGED to play one of these carnival games at Dollywood, he was pretty disappointed when his horse didn’t win! LOL!!
Dad snuggled up with the big kids!
Everyone had to get moms quarters and go for a practice ride before the real thing!
Snow bottoms on now! She’s looking like a natural!
Daffy was a wonderful horse for Alec and he LOVED his ride!
And this horse was “Dum, Dum” but it was fun for Kaleigh and Dad too!
So happy to be only 5 miles from Hattiesburg, MAN that was a LONG ride!!
Threw up five minutes later and made the last 20 minutes of the trip home naked! LOL!
Somehow I have ZERO pictures from the Dixie Stampede which was one of our most favorite things we did in Gatlinburg! It was a special Christmas show with a live nativity! Kaleigh is still talking about the girls doing tricks on all the horses! We had so much fun on this trip and can’t wait to visit the mountains again soon!!
