Easter Eggs are Everywhere!! 2010

Acting Silly in our Bunny Ears!!

Literally, Easter eggs are all over my house!!  Alec is the only young child on both mine and Dustin sides of the family.  (Hopefully not for much longer!!!)  So, needless to say, he was given SEVEN easter baskets full of eggs, candy, clothes and toys on Easter.  Next Sunday, all of the eggs are going back into the closet until next year!!  I'm going crazy with these eggs all over my living room!

We won't have to buy new baskets for several more years!!

Easter weekend was very busy for us!!  Thursday Alec had an Easter Egg Hunt at school.  He had to bring 6 filled eggs and a picnic lunch for them to hide eggs and eat a special lunch on the playground.  I think he had lots of fun, he was very excited about all of his new eggs, or as he calls them "balls" when I picked him up from school.

Sunday was a very fun day for us too!!  We got up early and went to early Church and Sunday School.  Then straight to Mimi's for lunch with my family.  Grandmother has not been feeling well, but thankfully, she was feeling great this weekend and made a HUGE outdoor flower bouquet for mom's patio.

As usual, Aunt Sissie was full of fun!!  She brought silly string and a ginger bread Easter house to make with Alec.  This was Alec (and Dustin's) first time playing with silly string and they enjoyed spraying each other!!  My family have always been silly string fans so it was time for Alec and Dustin to join into the fun.

After a wonderful lunch, Alec and Aunt Sissie started on their gingerbread house.  They had lots of fun, however, Alec just wanted to eat all of the jelly beans and wasn't thrilled with having to put them on the house.  But he did give up a few of them to put on the house.

Of course after eating all of the candy at Mimi's, Alec was having nothing to do with a nap once we got home.  My plan was for Alec to take a nap and then we'd tell the Easter Bunny to come over while Alec napped.  I didn't want Alec eating candy before church, so the Easter Bunny waited to come to our house.  Well, Alec didn't like that plan, so the Easter Bunny had to work fast while Alec played in the carport with Dustin.  The Bunny hid several dozen eggs in the back yard for Alec to hunt.  Alec didn't exactly get the concept of hunting the eggs.  He thought he was supposed to eat whatever was in the egg before he went and picked up any more.  So, he was a SLOW egg hunter.  Thankfully, Riley and Drew came home while he was hunting and helped him gather up his last few eggs!!

Then Alec helped Dustin and I spread dirt in the yard and take care of our flowers.  He's becoming the best flower waterer ever!!  Even though he likes to play in the water more than put it on the flowers!!

Nana, Mamaw and Grant came over for a cookout Sunday night, and of course, brought more Easter baskets!!  We also dyed eggs on the back porch.  I didn't read the "stain warning" on the package of egg paint so Alec and I looked like purple people eaters with our hands stained from the paint for the rest of the day.

This was such a fun holiday to celebrate with Alec and I loo forward to many more fun times in future years!!!
